Allgemeines Forschungspraktikum

In the practical research training programme, students can apply and deepen the theoretical concepts, methods and strategies they have learnt during their studies when working on a complex scientific problem in the field of materials chemistry or process engineering. Using the infrastructure of external research institutions or companies, students also acquire knowledge and skills in new methods and technologies. They become familiar with organisational forms of research networks or analyse company processes and the technologies used in a industrial work environment with a predominantly researching or developing activity character. At the end of the module, students will have consolidated skills in dealing with scientific information sources, in data collection, documentation and evaluation as well as in summarising, presenting and discussing scientific results.

Written report about 20 pages, 50% Colloquium including discussion, 45 min 50%

Original scientific literature on the research topic to be addressed; provided by the supervisor

The research internship is usually completed at a research institution outside the BTU or a company with its own research department under the supervision of a university lecturer involved in the curriculum. The choice of research institution is up to the students. In reasonable exceptional cases, the internship can also be completed in a working group within the BTU
