Entwurf Projekt I - Städtebau und Stadterneuerung

At the end of the module, students will be able to place the neighbourhood in the context of the city, define specific urban problems, and recognize inherent potentials for improving the quality of life through employing urban design tools. They will become familiar with strategies for urban rehabilitation, revitalization, and development. Additionally, students can apply practical exercises and theoretical findings to the design process. Students will also acquire the ability to conduct a creative urban analysis of a given study area from a morphological, historical, social, economic, and environmental perspective. They will understand multiple layers and systems of an urban structure, define the requirements and opportunities for redevelopment, understand the correlation between urban space and building typology, develop an urban design concept, and finally, be proficient in reasoning and presenting a project.
