Inhalte
Introduction – applications of gas cleaning in industrial processes and pollution control. Historical development and legislation. Various topics of particle separation and dust control. Characterization of particle size distributions and separation efficiency. Gravitational and inertial particle separators. Filters. Electrostatic precipitators. Wet scrubbers. Droplet separation. Combinations of separators. Separation of acid gases (HCl, HX, SO2/SO3 and others) Reduction of NOx, SNCR and SCR processes. Reduction of VOCs. Special Topics (Mercury, PAHs, Dioxins).

Prüfungsmodalitäten
- The laboratory report (ca. 10 pages) is a prerequisite for admission to the final module examination.
- Oral (30 min/participant) OR
- Written (1.5 hrs) examination
